Levicron and AMETEK have just partnered to provide their customers with industry-leading ultra-precision technology. AMETEK Precitech now represents Levicron products in the ultra-precision industry for the Americas and Asia. With an installed base of more than 1,500 machines, AMETEK Precitech is a leading international force in ultra-precision machining solutions.

In this newsletter, we also introduce our brand-new Ultra-Precision work-holding spindle ASD-Px. With the highest stiffness and load capacity, the shortest spindle soak time, and the least thermal growth in this class, users can benefit from error-motion of less than 15 nm, allowing them to machine even larger Ultra-Precision parts in less time.

Every customer who uses our ultra-precise tool spindles ASD-H25 and ASD-H25A requires HSK-E25 tool holders. However, with a tool run-out of 3 microns and a balancing quality of G2.5 at 25,000 rpm, the German industry standard DIN69893 doesn’t meet Ultra-Precision requirements. Customers in Ultra-Precision Machining have pushed us to develop a better solution for tool holding than the solutions currently available on the market. With a guaranteed tool run-out of under 0.8 micron and a balancing quality of better than G0.3 mm/s at 60,000 rpm, our new HSK tool holder series UTS-x now provides the Ultra-Precision machining market with the perfect solution for tool holding, in combination with our ASD-H25 and ASD-H25A spindles.
