ASD-PH63M (HSK-C 63)

Thanks to its unique design with spindle errors under 12nm (DIN-ISO230-7) and the low-vibration qualities of its specially developed iron-less motor technology, our ASD-PH63M is widely being used for ultra-precision grinding of glass and other brittle materials, specifically in the production of glass lenses and ceramic components. Due to is unique properties the so-called “sub-surface damages” to the substrate that occurs during the grinding process can significantly be reduces and subsequently any following polishing time be reduced by 50%. This not only leads to a significant reduction in production time, but also to significantly improved component shape accuracy.

The consistently symmetrical design and highly efficient thin-film liquid cooling leads to a minimized shaft growth of under 1 micron within less than 9 minutes from standstill to 10,000 rpm and warmed through. The slim cartridge design enables its use in horizontal and vertical machining centers with a closed spindle stock design. Along with a high-performance motor option an a constant motor torque of 20 Nm and its unique rotational accuracy, our ASD-PH63M is also ideal when used with larger grinding wheels.

As a result, users receive a robust and thermally stable solution for ultra-precising CNC machining, which is suitable for generating optical components and – with its high-resolution encoder options – for high-precision positioning in axis mode.
