Our ASD-Cx has been well-proven to be ultra-precision milling and grinding spindle for over ten years. Until now, the integrated automatic precision collet could cover tool shank sizes of up to ¼”. Some key applications, like contact lens turning, require clamp shanks of ½” (12.7 mm). Our ASD-Cx is now available to clamp ½” shanks to hold block pieces to machine contact lenses, for example, based on a proven design (ASD-CLT). The new collet design covers clamping diameters from 12.5 (0.49”) to 13 mm (0.51”) to allow the use of various block pieces and to make handling easier.
